Words by Anselm Anderson

OOB Records invites the listener onto the magical and mysterious journey of Beyond The Green Realm from the ancient forests of Northern Portugal. Drusuna released their highly anticipated follow-up to their 2016 debut 'Kaytos Kon' last November, promising to reconnect humans with the planet Earth through the traditions of Ritual Pagan Folk music.

Drusuna was formed in 2009 by brothers Sephirus and Alvahagal. They initially wanted to tell their stories through organic sounds, using stones, wood, and various other elements to replicate the natural sounds of the planet. However, these plans changed with the release of their debut album. They have since changed their musical direction through a series of appearances across Portugal.

Beyond The Green Realm embraces the signatures of Pagan folk music through poetry and instruments like acoustic guitar, flute, percussion, and various other non-folk sounds to captivate the listener into this enchanting world. Rose Avalon is an awe-inspiring vocalist, mesmerising through her style of Falsetto. Melisma and Vibrato's vocal performances tell their own stories. The intricate instrumentation further enchants through evocative and harmonic passages, which delight in the sounds of nature.

This is evident from the opening poetic monologue of "Drumming World." The song soon blends the melodic vocals of Avalon with percussive rhythms and flutes. Tracks like "Chants of the Wild," "Euphony of Whispers," and "Beyond the Green Realm" feature haunting vocal performances that further solidify the natural impact of Drusuna's sounds.

Each track immerses listeners in a rich tapestry of sounds, ranging from the acoustic-led "The Old Oak" to the spoken word piece "An Emerald Reverie." Through soothing music and poetry, Drusuna brings the elements of our world to life, leaving listeners impressed and providing them with a new perspective on the world around them.

CoverArtwork Courtesy of San Pr Words Written by Anselm Anderson Today marks the final chapter of an emphatic trilogy by British Metalcore Heavyweights , Virtue in Vain . Nothing is All I Am ' is the third instalment exploring human emotions and psyche.  The trio began their journey in 2015 with their debut EP,  For All You Know is the Mask I Wore ,  focusing on the loss of identity, before 2019's   Dusk//Dawn looking at the consequences of a terrible night out, whilst 'Nothing is All I Am ' focuses on rebuilding a fractured mind. The trio of lead vocalist Hywel Thomas, guitarist Mason Williams, and drummer Daniel Bryant hail from South Wales deliver another dose of metalcore that hits like a sledgehammer to the head. Their emotional cries blend with powerful riffs and down-tuned instrumentals that resonate long after the music has stopped. Their...
