Saxon Lead vocalist Biff Byford has posted an update on his battle with cancer. In a special social media posting, Byford discloses his recent diagnosis following the band's  Japanese Tour in late April and his upcoming 'mopping-up' chemotherapy treatment.

Also, Byford discusses the recent postponement of Saxon's European tour in France and Spain until next spring. At the same time, he undergoes a short period of chemotherapy, but has been told by doctors that his prognosis going forward is positive. All tickets will remain valid for the new rescheduled dates, which will be announced on SAXON’s social media channels imminently.

Unfortunately, Biff’s treatment is affecting the band’s upcoming festival performances. The band will have to cancel their appearance at Trutnoff Open Air later this month and has postponed their performance at Neuborn Open Air, which will now take place next year. Biff has reassured fans that Hell, Fire and Steel UK & Ireland Tour this November will be going ahead as planned, along with SAXON’s headline performance at Metal Hammer Paradise in Lübeck, Germany. The band’s Hell Fire and Steel UK Tour is currently close to being SOLD OUT, so fans are advised to grab the last few tickets quickly to avoid disappointment, as this will be the last opportunity to see SAXON this year in UK and Ireland and to hear the band’s classic Wheels of Steel album played in full for the last time from start to finish.

EP Review: Virtue in Vain-Nothing is All I Am

CoverArtwork Courtesy of San Pr Words Written by Anselm Anderson Today marks the final chapter of an emphatic trilogy by British Metalcore Heavyweights , Virtue in Vain . Nothing is All I Am ' is the third instalment exploring human emotions and psyche.  The trio began their journey in 2015 with their debut EP,  For All You Know is the Mask I Wore ,  focusing on the loss of identity, before 2019's   Dusk//Dawn looking at the consequences of a terrible night out, whilst 'Nothing is All I Am ' focuses on rebuilding a fractured mind. The trio of lead vocalist Hywel Thomas, guitarist Mason Williams, and drummer Daniel Bryant hail from South Wales deliver another dose of metalcore that hits like a sledgehammer to the head. The band replicates what many other British bands of the genre do, but they bring a story behind their music. Their emotional cries blend with powerful riffs and down-tuned instrumentals that resonate long after the music has stopped. Their...
