Photo courtesy of San PRWords by Anselm AndersonLast week, emerging British metal band Silk Spinster released their highly anticipated self-titled debut EP. The six-track release is a celebration of classic rock, featuring energetic riffs, massive choruses, and bold lyrics that capture the essence of rock and roll life. This release pays tribute to iconic bands such as Iron Maiden, Mötley Crüe, and Guns N' Roses. Photo courtesy of San PR Formed in Kingston-Upon-Hull four years ago, the quartet has steadily built a strong fan base through their theatrical performances and onstage costumes, paying tribute to the post-apocalyptic film Mad Max and the slasher film Friday the 13th. They have starred at festivals like Bloodstock and Call of the Wild, as well as sharing the stage with British Blues band Mother Vulture and US Heavy Metal band Contortion. The EP has been a long time in the making, covering stories of monster slaying and lost love. The opening track begins with a spoken monologue, which segues into the infectious 'Midnight Life' with rousing riffs and sing-along choruses. The track is reminiscent of the chorus-laden sleaze rock of the eighties. The title track, "Silk Spinster," is a thunderous metal song featuring powerful vocals and impressive guitar work. The album showcases a variety of influences and sounds, including the gutsy rock anthem "White Lines," which allows the vocalist to evoke a cheerful Phil Anselmo of Pantera through grunge-infused riffs and exhilarating guitar solos. The band has drawn inspiration from several different artists and successfully blended these elements into a pure rock album. Of course, any metal album from any era wouldn't be right without a love ballad, as featured on 'Home'. "Feel Your Fear" is a mid-tempo rock track featuring a heavily distorted guitar sound. In contrast, "Rockstar" is a cheeky tribute to the life of being in a rock band. The catchy riffs will get people dancing and rocking all night long. Silk Spinster is an exciting, adrenaline-fueled rock album that puts all rock fans in a great mood. Social Media Links Enjoyed this post?
