NUCLEAR BLAST RECORDS: EXTREME METAL GIANTS BEHEMOTH UNVEIL NEW ALBUM DETAILS, RELEASES "THE SHIT OV GOD" MUSIC VIDEO

Extreme metal giants BEHEMOTH have revealed details and artwork for their upcoming new album, the pleasantly- named  'The Shit Ov God' which is due to be released on May 9th via Nuclear Blast Records.  The title track enjoyed it's premiere last night, courtesy of Youtube. You can watch the video below

The painted faces of Behemoth promise their most controversial release in their 34 years of existence with the inflammatory eight-tracker "The Shit ov God". The thriteenth studio effort touches on the subjects of humanity and it's relationship with divinity, notably, what defiance means between individuality and the ones they worship.. Musically, politically, or otherwise. The title of the album is in line with those sensibilities. The polarizing figure of founder and frontman Nergal, says of the title "We chose this provocative title deliberately, rejecting subtlety in favour of a direct and polarizing statement. It’s a defiant plunge into the depths, daring to seek the absolute even in the gutter."

The band shows subtlety with the striking artwork, which depicts an upside-down version of the most common Christogram, "IHS".

NERGAL commented:
"I’ve reached a point in Behemoth’s journey and my own creativity where words and statements mean less and less. The true essence of who we are and what we stand for lies in our music, our art, our visuals, our sounds, our performances, and the ways we connect with you. I deeply believe Behemoth represents transcendent, timeless art.

The number thirteen—so magical and significant. If this were to be our final album, I could say I die a proud man. Without a shadow of a doubt, this is the most refined, purest representation of Behemoth. No filler, no excess—just the very best we have to offer, handed to you.

Hail Satan"

BEHEMOTH chose the audiovisual artists involved on the album. Jens Bogren of Fascination Street Studios (Emperor, Enslaved, Kreator, Rotting Christ et al.) produced the album ,working closely with the band. Bogren catches the band's natural sound while remaining trues of  the band's essence. As is always the case, the visuals were alligned with the sound. The band recruited long-time collaborator and partner in crime Bartek Rogalewicz (BLACK.LODGE.IS.NOW) as well as Dark Sigil Workshop to make the beautifully ominous and unique cover-art.

Don't forget to catch BEHEMOTH live on their Unholy Trinity headline tour with Satyricon and Rotting Christ. All dates and ticket info at the bottom.

EP Review: Virtue in Vain-Nothing is All I Am

CoverArtwork Courtesy of San Pr Words Written by Anselm Anderson Today marks the final chapter of an emphatic trilogy by British Metalcore Heavyweights , Virtue in Vain . Nothing is All I Am ' is the third instalment exploring human emotions and psyche.  The trio began their journey in 2015 with their debut EP,  For All You Know is the Mask I Wore ,  focusing on the loss of identity, before 2019's   Dusk//Dawn looking at the consequences of a terrible night out, whilst 'Nothing is All I Am ' focuses on rebuilding a fractured mind. The trio of lead vocalist Hywel Thomas, guitarist Mason Williams, and drummer Daniel Bryant hail from South Wales deliver another dose of metalcore that hits like a sledgehammer to the head. The band replicates what many other British bands of the genre do, but they bring a story behind their music. Their emotional cries blend with powerful riffs and down-tuned instrumentals that resonate long after the music has stopped. Their...
