Synth Pop starlets Autogramm are going on a tour of the Mid-West to support their latest album 'Music Humans Can Play To'. The band will visit venues in Milwaukee, Madison, Chicago and Cleveland. The album was released worldwide via Stomp Records, which saw the band take a new direction from their previous guises. The New Wave outfit received positive feedback from the international press and significant radio coverage across North America and the States.
The band will begin their first appearances at Cactus Club in Milwaukee on July 2nd, then onto Madison on July 3rd, stopping at The Happy Dog in Cleveland, and wrapping things up in Chicago on July 6th at The Empty Botle. You can find the full dates listed below. Please visit the websites of the venues for further ticket information.
Autogramm formed with a love of bands like Devo and The Cars, but the pandemic halted their ambitions. Autogramm were a band on the brink of disbandment following difficulties with travelling and lead Singer Jiffy Mark's disillusions with taking on multiple responsibilities. The band sought help from legendary Seattle guitarist Lars Von Seattle of The Catheters fame, who transformed the band's sound into a new wave-punk band with pop sensibilities. They soon produced a sound heavily inspired by bands like Cheap Trick and David Bowie. This newfound confidence led the band to record and release their third LP 'Music Humans Can Play To' last November to critical acclaim.
Autogramm has strong ties to the art, punk, and skateboarding communities worldwide. Since its formation, Autogramm has performed in various countries such as Canada, Mexico, the US, the UK, and Europe The band members are Jiffy Marx from Brooklyn’s Hard Drugs, Vancouver’s Night Court, and Blood Meridian; CC Voltage from Berlin’s Dysnea Boys, London’s Loyalties, and Vancouver’s Black Halos and Spitfires; Lars Von Seattle from Bread & Butter and The Catheters; and The Silo from Vancouver’s Black Mountain, Lightning Dust, Destroyer, and Chicago’s Spun Out.
The album was recorded on a hot summer day a couple of years ago in Vancouver, BC during a tumultuous time of beaches, barbecues and newborn babies. The album is a result of all the hard work and testing times the band fought through.
