Napalm Records Album Review: Myles Kennedy-The Art of Letting Go

Image
Words by Anselm Anderson Singer, songwriter, and instrumentalist Myles Kenned y released his third solo album, titled "The Art of Letting Go," through Napalm Records last Friday. The follow-up to the critically acclaimed "The Ides of March" in 2021 was a contemplative piece by the rock vocalist, best known for fronting Alter Bridge and teaming with Slash and the Conspirators. This time around, Mr Kennedy seems to be in a reflective mood, as he muses over some key elements of his life thus far. "The Art of Letting Go" is a guitar-driven record that delves into the artist's influences with post-grunge rockers and the man in a hat. Kennedy, along with bandmates drummer Zia Uddin and bassist Tim Tournier, has created a spiritual album filled with wisdom and grace. Producer Michael Baskette oversaw the recording of this release at Studio Barbosa in Florida. Photo Credit: Chuck Bruekmann "The Art of Letting Go" opens the album with a captivating c...

ROCKSTAR INTERVIEWS BLUES GUITARIST ROSS HARDING "The goal for me is always to serve the audience"

Image
Interview conducted by Anselm Anderson Rambling Man's Reviews recently caught up with blues guitarist Ross Harding to discuss his latest single, "A Thousand Snakes" (Deluxe Edition), his upcoming UK tour, and the reasons behind his relocation from South Africa to the UK. Scroll down to read the full interview. Hello, Ross. Congratulations on your latest single “A Thousand Snakes”.What is the decision to re-release it as a deluxe edition? Thank you very much for the opportunity to share some of my thoughts with your readers! The edition to release  'A Thousand Snakes Deluxe Version' is stylized and presented musically in the way I initially intended the song to sound and feel. Drastic changes were happening in my life, which directly influenced the recording process and release schedule of this body of songs (which all belong to an upcoming compilation/album called The Blood & The Blues). With this rendition, I really wanted to get into my more direct blues i...

Album Review: Julia Mosley: Ballad of A Murderess

Image
Words by Anselm Anderson English Songstress Julia Mosley is set to release her fourth studio album Ballad of a Murderess next month via her own record label, Opalite Records. The follow-up to 2021's  Illuminate the Night  is her darkest release. It is a concept album that tells the tale of a Mythological world through three eras of the past, a quasi-present day and a Future Era.  The complex narrative is conveyed through engaging music.  I first became aware of Julia Mosley a couple of years ago and was taken aback by her versatile vocal range, accompanied by her ambidextrous piano skills. I remember comparing her between Kate Bush and Florence and The Machine. The album was the first to be recorded at Illumilight Studios in an Ancient Temple. This helps contribute to an eerie and sinister album. Mosley hails from Stoke-on-Trent, England, she first began writing songs at the age of Fifteen years old. The singer/songwriter has won numerous awards, gaining valuable...

Song Review: Andrea Templon- Dragonflies on Wings

Image
Words were written by Anselm Anderson  Andrea Templon  is a versatile talent hailing from North Carolina. The singer has a rare ability to encompass a variety of genres into her music, including jazz, folk, blues, and Americana. This is nowhere better explored in her latest release " Dragonflies With Wings" , The singer's second album that features covers and originals with Dave Fox.  The ten song album is rich with warmth and poignancy that delivers with charm and attentiveness that is suitable for those who enjoy easy listening music. I will be giving a run through of some of the album's highlights; The album begins with  A Fine Thing , a beautifully written and enchanting track that opens with the bright sound of the piano that gives the song an intimate feel as if Templon is singing directly to the listener in a lounge somewhere. This is reflective in her introspective lyrics that evoke  a love ballad that comes to life with Templon's nourishing tone ...

Dee Jazzaz- Interview

Image
Interview conducted by Anselm Anderson As the author of Rambling Man's Reviews, I always felt it was an assumption to just write reviews from the best in unsigned music today. However, every blog and writer needs to evolve, so I'm very privileged to introduce my first interview to this ever-evolving music blog. The recipient of this award is    Dee Jazazz  a talented Jazz/blues singer-songwriter from New Zealand. Dee has previously released an EP " Moment of  Love" and is set to release her follow up " Loves Me, Loves Me Not" later this year. I was first intrigued when I listened to Dee's latest single   Lose My Number , a powerful and emotional soul song that has similarities to great singers like Janis Joplin and Ella Fitzgerald.   I spoke to Dee about her new album, life as a vocal coach, who her key influences are, what makes a good singer, and her Bachelor's degree in Contemporary Music. 1)Good morning Dee, could you introduce yoursel...
