,  Words by Anselm Anderson A couple of weeks ago, Female-fronted rock act Luna Marble released their much-anticipated self-titled debut album . The album marks a turning point for the quartet as they embark on a new journey in their blossoming career. The band combines 70s-tinged psychedelic rock with energy, passion, and raw emotion, as part of a collection of songs recorded earlier in their career. Inspired by icons like Pink Floyd , Led Zeppelin and co, they formed five years ago in Manchester, England . They are led by the commanding vocals of Maria Rico , the cosmic flair of guitarist Dragos Colceriu , bassist David Grundy , and drummer Sean Stewart . Luna Marble was mastered by Jimmy Spencer at various locations in Manchester, including Salford University . British Alt Rock/Punks The Yalla Yallas have recently released their fifth album What It means To be Human. The album was written and recorded between June 2020 and April 2021 at Loom Studios in Yorkshire. It sees the band move away from their political punk style to a more reflective tone with international influences. Lead Singer Rob Galloway wrote all the tracks with the aid of Brian Eno's Oblique Strategy Cards as he gained inspiration from iconic albums by him and Bob Dylan. The eight-track EP begins with the empowering melodies of "I'm Alive" with its psychedelic guitar sounds, mesmerising synths and philosophical lyrics. The uplifting charms of "Morning Sun" see Galloway deliver a spoken word performance over thick basslines and guitar grooves that give this track a New Age vibe. Interview by Anselm Anderson Alt Rock quartet Paraline recently released their debut EP 'Sound Weapon' last month via Eclipse Records. Two brothers formed the band to discover themselves, as they fought issues with the Pandemic and war in Ukraine to produce 'Sound Weapon'.
