EP REVIEW: ELECTRON- HOLLOW

  Review by Anselm Anderson London-based contemporary metal band Electron released their new EP 'Hollow' last Friday (May 24th). Following last year's debut album 'Defiance', this release features five turbo-charged tracks. The band combines grunge vocals with crunchy riffs to captivate the listener's attention. Formed in 2022, the trio are led by the angst-ridden vocals of guitarist Jason Payne, the heavy strikes of drummer Nuno Bessa and the hypnotic basslines of Joanna Hyde. The trio create hook-laden, anthemic rock with razor-sharp riffs that harken back to the tale end of the Nu-Metal era. The band has promoted the release extensively across digital platforms and magazines and has also toured the UK in support of Riff-masters King Buffalo. 'Hollow' was produced by acclaimed producer Romesh Dodangoda, whose work I have covered extensively. Today, Nashville’s country rockers Cody Parks and the Dirty South officially signed with Frontiers Label Group via BLKIIBLK . Song Review- Outlaws and Moonshine- Pills 'N' Alcohol

  Single Review by Anselm Anderson Rising Southern Rockers' Outlaws and Moonshine  are back with a message about demons and vice on the new single 'Pills and Alcohol. The follow-up to 'Hillbilly Rockstars' is a raucous three minutes of guitar-driven Southern rock. Formed in 2014 by the VanVolkenburg brothers- Beau (vocals) and bassist Chris, the duo are joined by , Richie Wilkinson (guitar, backing vocals), Mark Oaldon (guitar, vocals) and Eric Piper (drums).  The band comments the track is about feeling like you have found peace because you divulge in your inner demons and vices. The single starts with the cries of   "Far from Me to glamourise cocaine" over a simple, but effective riff. The song builds in tempo before changing to a catchy chorus. The song's addictive refrain of  " I love it" finishes with a salacious guitar solo for an energetic anthem for rock music from the swamplands.
