Album of The Week- KRYPTOGRAF- THE ELDORADO SPELL

Norwegian Stoner rock act Kryptograf has released their sophomore effort, the spellbinding, The Eldorado Spell, via Apollon Records. The four-piece have released the follow up to their 2020 self-titled debut. The music takes the listener back to the seventies' heyday of huge riffs and mesmerising vocals that combines folk, stoner, doom rock and psychedelia to create a fresh new sound. The ten-track LP was produced, mixed, and mastered by Ivor Sandey and recorded at Solsolett Studio 2020.
"Asphodel" opens the album with its slow tempo and chunky guitar sound sets the precedent for the remainder of the album.
Next up is "Cosmic Suicide", the track's aggressive guitars and catchy vocals make it a hit with many new fans. The band emerge unique styles with interesting ideas to create a fun and dynamic edge that appeals to many a fan. The album continues through with structured solos and acoustic passages such as the titled track 'The Eldorado Spell' with its mesmerising acoustic intro and dark grooves that sound like something from a Black Sabbath initiation.

Other highlights include the sludge metal of "The Spiral", the hypnotic grooves of "When the Witches" and finally, "The Well" completes the recordings with enchanting vocals and folk elements.

Overall, 'The Eldorado Spell' creates a fresh potion of riffs and earworm songs to keep fans of all things doom satisfied.
