THE DEAD DAISIES RELEASE SHORT DOCUMENTARY, TO ACCOMPANY 'LOOKIN FOR TROUBLE'

Edited by Anselm Anderson

The Dead Daisies build on the success of their recent blues cover album, 'Lookin' Trouble,' with a new short documentary that provides insight into the creation of the album and its origins. The twenty minute film offers an intimate look at how an impromptu late night jam session in Muscle Shoals turned into one of the band's better records.

The film delves into the rich musical history  inside the legendary FAME Studios. Featuring some never-before-seen footage of the band en route to FAME, the documentary looks at the creative process and how the band interpret these iconic tracks.

Through candid interviews with lead vocalist John Corabi, guitarist Doug Aldrich, and bassist Michael Devin, the film traces the roots of the blues and its evolution into rock & roll. The band discuss  the legends and folklore surrounding artists like Lead Belly, Muddy Waters, and Albert King, whose tracks are re-imagined on 'Lookin' For Trouble'. Viewers will gain insight into the inspiration behind their  covers of classics like Robert Johnson’s “Crossroads,” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v9IpLbNrJdc John Lee Hooker’s “Boom Boom,” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=unEAtInxBsQ and B.B. King’s “The Thrill Is Gone.”

Corabi recalls when he first discovered the blues “When I first heard blues, it was through bands like Led Zeppelin and The Rolling Stones,” “The deeper I researched my heroes, the deeper I got into the history of this music. The blues is the soul of rock ‘n’ roll—it’s in everything we do.”
The documentary highlights the camaraderie and chemistry between the band and producer Marti Frederiksen, who inspired the group to record everything live, in the moment, with minimal overdubs. The outcome is a collection of electrifying blues performances are both immediate and deeply.

'Lookin’ For Trouble is  out now via SPV GmbH. It is The Dead Daisies’ first full-fledged blues album.  The record was tracked live at FAME Studios, which began as an impromptu tribute to their blues heroes.

“This album is our love letter to the blues,” Corabi shares. “It’s the music that shaped rock and shaped us.”

EP Review: Virtue in Vain-Nothing is All I Am

CoverArtwork Courtesy of San Pr Words Written by Anselm Anderson Today marks the final chapter of an emphatic trilogy by British Metalcore Heavyweights , Virtue in Vain . Nothing is All I Am ' is the third instalment exploring human emotions and psyche.  The trio began their journey in 2015 with their debut EP,  For All You Know is the Mask I Wore ,  focusing on the loss of identity, before 2019's   Dusk//Dawn looking at the consequences of a terrible night out, whilst 'Nothing is All I Am ' focuses on rebuilding a fractured mind. The trio of lead vocalist Hywel Thomas, guitarist Mason Williams, and drummer Daniel Bryant hail from South Wales deliver another dose of metalcore that hits like a sledgehammer to the head. The band replicates what many other British bands of the genre do, but they bring a story behind their music. Their emotional cries blend with powerful riffs and down-tuned instrumentals that resonate long after the music has stopped. Their...
