Brazillian Thrash Metal act Sepultura Announces their Final Release before They Bid Farewell

Brazil's most renowned metal export, Sepultura, is preparing to conclude an extraordinary career that has spanned over four decades. As they approach the end of this year, they are gearing up to close this final chapter. With more than 40 years of experience, 14 gold records, and performances in over 80 countries, Sepultura stands as one of the most influential metal bands of today.

They are currently embarked on the 'Celebrating Life Through Death' farewell tour, and they are preparing one of their most diverse and emotional releases to date, The Cloud of Unknowing EP, set to be released on April 24th via Nuclear Blast Records. Across four tracks, this EP offers a bittersweet farewell, showcasing the full range of the band’s creativity and reflecting both the intensity and depth that have defined SEPULTURA’s legacy.

SEPULTURA have today released EP track 'The Place', in which vocalist Derrick Green sheds some light on:

“This song deals with immigrants who have come to a place seeking refuge and start a new life.

Once assimilated into a false sense of security and relentless propaganda they began to act out against what they hate about themselves. The transition begins to escape from the self hatred and the lashing out against people who believed in the same ideas. I feel the lyrics truly follow the transitions of the song. Starting with disappointment and arriving at anger.”

Sepultura began their journey in 1986 with the release of their legendary debut LP 'Morbid Visions', later coining their brand of roots metal as 'Death Thrash'. They soon captured the attention of the Dutch Rock Records label RoadRunner Records. They soon became a major force in the eighties and nineties, producing legendary records such as 'Beneath the Remains'(1989), 'Chaos A.D' (1993) and 'Roots' (1996). The band were formed by the Cavalera brothers, Igor and Max, in 1984 in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, before they departed in 1997 and 2006, respectively. There are no original members left, even though bassist Paulo JR remains the longest serving member. He is joined by American vocalist Derrick Green, guitarist Andreas Kisser and drummer Greyson Nekrutman.
