MEGADETH lead Vocalist, DAVE MUSTAINE, has revealed in a social post to his worldwide fanbase and Cyber Army that his forthcoming album will be the final MEGADETH studio album of his career. MUSTAINE shared the announcement via his alter ego, Vic Rattlehead. MUSTAINE also revealed that the band will embark on a worldwide farewell tour next year. Next year, MUSTAINE will release his memoirs, with more details to follow in the coming months.

Dave Mustaine revealed to his followers, “There are so many musicians that have come to the end of their career, whether accidental or intentional. Most of them don't get to go out on their own terms on top, and that's where I'm at in my life right now. I have travelled the world and have made millions upon millions of fans, and the hardest part of all of this is saying goodbye to them.

DAVE adds, “We can't wait for you to hear this album and see us on tour. If there was ever a perfect time for us to put out a new album, it's now. If there was ever a perfect time to tour the world, it's now. This is also a perfect time for us to tell you that it's our last studio album. We've made a lot of friends over the years, and I hope to see all of you on our global farewell tour. Don't be mad, don't be sad, be happy for us all, come celebrate with me these next few years. We have done something together that's truly wonderful and will probably never happen again. We started a musical style, we started a revolution, we changed the guitar world and how it's played, and we changed the world. The bands I played in have influenced the world. I love you all for it. Thank you for everything.”

MEGADETH is set to release their upcoming album through MUSTAINE’s Tradecraft imprint in collaboration with Frontiers Label Group’s new BLKIIBLK label. It will debut with the project's first single (to be announced) this autumn.

Megadeth was formed over forty years ago by former Metallica guitarist Dave Mustaine. He played a key role in revolutionising the thrash metal sound with his aggressive fingerpicking guitar style. To date, the band has sold 50 million records worldwide, received a GRAMMY® Award along with 12 additional nominations, generated billions of streams, and achieved seven Top 10 entries on the Billboard 200. Their catalogue includes classic rock faves, such as the platinum-selling Peace Sells… But Who’s Buying?, reaching  #8 on Rolling Stone’s “100 Greatest Metal Albums of All Time”, Rust In Peace, and double-platinum Countdown To Extinction, which reached #2 on the Billboard 200.

Most recently, they earned a top 3 debut and earned a GRAMMY® Award in the category of “Best Metal Performance” with their title track for Dystopia.  = They only upped the ferocity with The Sick, The Dying… And The Dead! in 2022. MEGADETH has made a significant impact on the music scene, recently returning to the spotlight with a nomination for a “Best Metal Performance” GRAMMY® Award for their song “We’ll Be Back.” The band has received rave reviews, and their influence can be felt across various aspects of popular culture. For example, Post Malone has a tattoo of “So Far, So Good… So What!,” Homer Simpson’s iPod features their name in an episode, and their music has been incorporated into the plot of Showtime’s hit series "Billions" and the film "Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey."

Over the past five decades, MEGADETH has produced both relevant and timeless records. They helped pioneer the thrash metal movement in the 1980s, gained prominence during the MTV era of the 1990s with their charismatic style, and continued to evolve in the 2000s. The band reached new heights in the social media and streaming era of the 2010s, and they have adeptly channelled the uncertainty of the post-pandemic world into their boldest and most ambitious work to date.

In addition to their musical achievements, MEGADETH has ventured into the beverage industry. In 2016, they introduced their first signature beer, À Tout Le Monde, followed by Saison 13 in 2019. The brand quickly established itself in the market, selling over 15 million pints. In a partnership with Keystone in 2025, they are set to launch the next phase of Megadeth Beer on a global scale.

Beyond music, frontman Dave Mustaine founded the innovative wine brand HOUSE OF MUSTAINE, which merges music, culture, and fine winemaking. The brand debuted with the 2013 Symphony Interrupted Cabernet Sauvignon, inspired by MEGADETH’s groundbreaking collaboration with the San Diego Symphony.
